Super Cute Crate Seats

I have been seeing several amazing ideas on Pinterest for the classroom and I finally took the plunge and tackled a project over the weekend.  I have seen many examples of the crate seats and have been wanting to make a set for a while.  I  had a lot of fun making them too.

The supplies that I purchased were:
  • 6 file crates from Walmart (half price last week)
  • Plywood from Lowes (they cut it for Free)
  • Two patterns of fabric from Hobby Lobby (30% off)
  • 1 roll of one inch foam from Hobby Lobby (used 40% off coupon)
  • Roll of Polka Dot Ribbon (for a seat pull)
  • Heavy Duty Stapler and Staples from Lowes

I followed the instructions from this wonderful site: Crate Seat Directions

I haven't decided if I will use them for my guided reading table or for mulitple reading spots for my students.  I just know the kids will love them and they will add extra character to my classroom next year.

  1. These look great! I hope that your kids love them and that they are functional for you. We can all use more storage. Also, I am your newest follower!
